Much like bad weather swept through the northern region the prior day, City swept the visitors away at the Etihad. It was a convincing three goal triumph for their manager's side thanks to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their place at the WSL pinnacle.

Back-to-Back Losses for Manchester United

This result represented successive Women's Super League defeats for the United manager's side for the first time since spring 2024, putting them a significant margin off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions severely dented.

The Red Devils' ability to juggle domestic and continental football with a thin squad has been a frequently analyzed topic since they qualified for the European competition.
