One 60-day journey circling the Land Down Under has been cancelled days after the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was left behind by the cruise liner on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with other travelers from the vessel, but parted ways from the group for a pause. The ship sailed away leaving her and returned later that day after the personnel realised the woman was not present.

A major search operation found her remains the subsequent day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the incident, alongside investigators and the medical examiner.

Head of the voyage organizer said that guests and staff on the vessel were notified that the rest of the voyage had been terminated due to the "tragic passing and previous engine troubles".

In a statement, he added that passengers would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to organize the homeward trips of the travelers via chartered flights".

Regulatory bodies also released an updated announcement, and said they had "delivered a directive to the Master" preventing any additional guests from boarding the liner.

The official said that they would attend the liner in the Australian city upon its return.

The ship originally sailed from Cairns on October 24th, and was merely two days into the voyage at the point of the senior passenger's passing. The remote island was the initial destination on the itinerary.

Passengers on board - who typically pay large sums of currency to participate in the expedition - were transported there for a day trip with the possibility of hiking or snorkelling.

The daughter of the elderly passenger said that her family was "shocked and saddened that the liner left Lizard Island after an planned outing without my parent".

Via her announcement, she portrayed her mother as an "energetic octogenarian" who was a member of a walking organization.

"From the little details we have been provided, it looks that there was a failure of care and ordinary reasoning," she mentioned.

She continued that she hoped the inquiry would be able to identify what "the operator should have done that might have saved Mum's life".

Through an announcement, the CEO verified that the company was "cooperating fully with officials to aid their inquiry".

He mentioned that the organization was "deeply sorry that this has transpired" and had provided its complete assistance to the relatives.

The ship serves up to one hundred twenty travelers with 46 personnel, according to corporate details. It was purpose-built to enter distant areas of the nation's shoreline and is outfitted with "small boats" - small boats used to transport individuals on land visits.
